Adjusting opening hours in stores: a good idea?

Adjusting opening hours in stores: a good idea?

24 March 2020 à 12:00 am

The Quebec’s public health director, Dr. Horacio Arruda, believes that adjusting the opening hours of businesses to allow more vulnerable customers to shop without danger of contracting COVID-19 is a good idea, if all safety criteria are met.

Several local grocery stores in Pontiac and the surrounding area have changed their opening hours for the same purpose. Arruda said that being able to deliver the goods directly to citizens’ homes would be a better solution to avoid spreading the virus.

The government has also appealed to solidarity from Quebecers, in order to lend a helping hand to neighbors and other more vulnerable acquaintances in the purchase of essential goods.
