Bristol Dryland 2021: more than 150 teams registered

2 November 2021 à 12:00 am

Despite a lower turnout than previous years due to pandemic restrictions, the 2021 Bristol Dryland dog races were a success according to organizer Denis Rozon. He had 162 teams competing at the track this past weekend, which is roughly half the amount he had in 2019, the last year the races were held. He said that with all the pandemic restrictions severely cutting into the amount of racers coming over from Europe, he was pleased that so many were able to make it.

Both participants and spectators were required to show proof of vaccination, and Rozon said that between 200 and 300 people turned out over the weekend. He noted that more people turned up on the Saturday when it was raining than Sunday when it was just overcast for most of the day. The wet weather didn’t have much of an impact on the racing conditions however.

Next up in the calendar is the Bristol International Sled Dog races, which Rozon said is scheduled for the end of February.
