Corinne Canuel-Jolicoeur pitches herself as alternative to Liberals

23 September 2022 à 12:00 am

CAQ candidate for the Pontiac riding Corinne Canuel-Jolicoeur was in CHIP 101.9’s studio on September 22, appearing live on our French-language morning show Bonjour Pontiac between 8 and 9 a.m. Following the live discussion she sat down for an interview in English as well.

She said that her campaigning has been going well, with the exception of some vandalism to her signage. She said that meeting the citizens from all the different regions has been enjoyable.

She spoke about one of the CAQ’s flagship projects in the Outaouais region, the construction of a 600-bed hospital in Gatineau, and added that they were focusing on home care services as well.

Canuel-Jolicoeur was asked about an incident involving Premier Legault at the start of the campaign, when he apologized for having English on his campaign website, calling it a mistake. She falsely claimed that there was an English section on the website, which has an English header image, but no campaign information in English. The most recent English content on the website is COVID-19 information from January.

Canuel-Jolicoeur also spoke about her party’s housing strategy for both the urban and rural portions of the Pontiac riding.

The full interview with Canuel-Jolicoeur (13m05) is available here.

Mike Owen Sebagenzi of Québec solidaire will also be in studio next week on Wednesday morning.

The audio of CHIP 101.9’s debate between the candidates for Pontiac (in both English and French) is available here.
