CORONAVIRUS – A statement was made earlier today by the Premier of Quebec, François Legault, regarding new mandatory measures in place to fight the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) within Québec. These measures will have an impact on various events in the Pontiac in the coming days.

The conference named: Vieillir et mourir en toute dignité which was set to take place on March 18th in Fort-Coulonge, has been canceled due to the potential risk.

Friends of St. Joseph’s Manor in Campbell’s Bay urge families and friends to refrain from visiting residents of the manor.

CHIP 101.9 is awaiting responses regarding the Pontiac Comets game against Maniwaki this Saturday, the Ski-Doo Races over the weekend and also the Shawville figure skating show, planned for March 20th.

Note that the Montreal Canadiens games, broadcasted on CHIP 101.9, are suspended until further notice.

Measures announced by François Legault:
– Cancellation, until further notice, of all gatherings of more than 250 people
– Voluntary isolation for all travelers regardless of the country of origin
– Mandatory isolation of 14 days for public sector workers who have traveled abroad
– Voluntary isolation for private sector employees

Remember : two cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Ottawa, none thus far in the Outaouais. (updated at 2:30p.m., March 12th, 2020).
