Launch of the Outaouais first initiative in the Pontiac

13 July 2020 à 12:00 am

Friday, Campbell’s Bay – Approximately 20 stakeholders in the Outaouais were present for the Pontiac Launch of the Outaouais First initiative, which encourages citizens to buy locally.

According to the spokesperson of Outaouais First, Anne-Marie Trudel, this initiative was created in January 2019 but received a push due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

The Warden of the MRC Pontiac Jane Toller talked about the impact of the pandemic – and the boarder control points – on the tendencies of the local population who would normally shop in Ontario. Jane Toller explained that one of the only positive impacts of the pandemic was the local discovery made during confinement.

Along with other representatives on site, the MNA For Pontiac André Fortin congratulated the Outaouais First initiative and talked about the importance of informing not only the local population but the local entrepreneurs as well.

The Outaouais D’abords Website was officially launched this week. Interested businesses can sign up by visiting: https://outaouaisdabord.ca/en/
