13 June 2018 à 12:00 am

Yesterday morning, Quebec’s Minister of Culture and Communications, Marie Montpetit, launched Québec’s highly anticipated cultural policy, along with the 2018-2023 Government Action Plan for Culture.

The Association of Community Radio Broadcasters of Quebec (ARCQ), which represents 37 community radio stations across Quebec, issued a press release following the launch, stating their disappointment of the absence of community media in the policy. The ARCQ CEO, Martin Bougie, shared with CHIP 101.9 their thoughts:

The press release also states that Minister Montpetit has announced investments in community media to support the production of local and regional news. According to the ARCQ, community radio stations received an average of $ 1,500 to support their news service.
