The CISSS de l’Outaouais reiterated this week the importance of the Red Alert level measures affecting the Gatineau region and the MRC des Collines-de-l’Outaouais.

Indeed, the data shows us that the COVID-19 virus is still very present given the number of hospitalizations, with 34 people who are currently hospitalized, including 2 in intensive care. It was also mentioned that more than fifty outbreaks are active, both in the workplace and in closed environments for the elderly, as explained by the President and CEO of the CISSS de l’Outaouais, Josée Filion;

There is a growing number, in the last weeks, of Covid-19 cases and several deaths have been added in the Outaouais among vulnerable people, that is to say the elderly. The CISSS de l’Outaouais mentioned that some people could be transferred from the Hull hospital to other hospitals in order to relieve this establishment.

The CISSS de l’Outaouais therefore recalled that it is more important than ever to continue to comply with the red alert level measures. Limiting non-essential contact is essential to protect the most vulnerable people who could be hard hit by COVID-19.

Remember that the MRC Pontiac is currently in the orange zone.
