The Shawville Fair launched an online auction this week intended to raise funds to repair part of the fair grounds in Shawville. Kendal Lang, the Social Media Director on the Shawville Fair Board, explained why the Fair took on this initiative this year.

As announced by the Quebec Government, due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, all summer events were forced to be cancelled as a way to limit the spread of the virus. However, since this announcement, the Shawville Fair Board of Directors has been looking into different ways of staying active in the community. This initiative has already resulted in the organization of a Car Rally as well as a 50-50 Raffle.

According to Lang, the Pontiac residents could see other online or socially distant activities throughout the month of August as we approach Labour Day weekend (Shawville Fair).

To participate in the Shawville Fair Online Auction, which ends on August 17th at 8 p.m. and join the group under the same name on Facebook. To bid, those who join can submit a comment their price on the item of their choosing.

More details can be found in the full interview with Kendal Lang here.
